Where do the ingredients for Ovomaltine come from?
Wherever possible, Wander sources its raw materials from Switzerland. The main ingredients used to produce Ovomaltine are milk, barley, and cocoa. The milk comes from Switzerland, specifically from the regions around Neuenegg. The barley is imported from Europe, as Switzerland’s topography and climate are not suitable for growing high-quality barley in large quantities. Swiss barley is mainly used as animal feed and does not meet the quality requirements for food production. The cocoa used by Wander comes from West Africa and is Rainforest Alliance certified.
