WANDER respects your right to privacy. Here are our main principles:

We are committed to protect your privacy and we want to offer you a tailored service.

We collect personal data for specific purposes based on your consent or on a legitimate ground linked to the use of the Sites.

You have the right to access your personal data and ask for correction or deletion.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. If necessary, we may share your data with group companies, brand licensees, partners and other service providers via which their own privacy policy may apply.

We will take all reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse and keep it secure.

This Notice explains how and for what purposes we use the information collected about you through our Sites, offline programs and events.

Scope of this privacy notice and your consent

We respect your right to privacy in the online world when you use our Sites. By using our Sites or by giving us your personal data, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree to this Privacy Notice, please refrain from using or visiting our Sites or providing personal data.

WANDER reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Notice at any time, so make sure you review it regularly.

Data collected by Wander

How personal data is collected

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information that WANDER collects from individuals or companies via a number of sources (including websites and mobile apps, social networking sites, events or consumer engagements services) and, in some instances, from third parties.

Kinds of personal data attained by Wander

We only collect personal information that is necessary for a specific purpose or that you provide to us with your explicit consent (opt-in principle), based on your actions and behaviours or for a legitimate reason:

  • Personal contact information such as name, email, phone number, picture and demographic information, including age, gender or location;
  • Account login information where applicable;
  • Payment information;
  • Your comments and user-generated content, including any content (e.g. photos, videos and personal stories) that you create and share by uploading it to our Sites.

We also use cookies and other tracking technology which collect certain kinds of information when you interact with our sites and apps, such as IP addresses or browsing preferences.

We may collect personal data about you from other sources including third party data aggregators (e.g. Google), promotional partners, public sources and third party social networking sites. Such information may include personal data as part of your profile on a third party social network and that you allow that third party to share with us, pursuant to their rules. 

Children's personal data

The majority of our Sites are designed and intended for use by adults. Where a Site is proposed to a younger audience, we will obtain consent from a parent or guardian before we collect personal information where we feel it is appropriate to do so or where it is required by applicable laws and regulations (the age of consent is necessary varies from country to country).

Why do we collect personal data and use it

We may collect and use your personal data for a number of purposes, including:

  • to allow you to create and access your user Account
  • to fulfil your orders and purchases;
  • to develop consumer engagement, respond to your queries or use it for contests you have entered;
  • to contact you for marketing purposes, including direct marketing and social features within social networks;
  • to combine with information we receive from others to help understand your needs and to provide you with better service, including customizing sites and products for you and serving you interest-based advertising;
  • for security and maintenance; for reporting and auditing; and for risk, dispute and record management.
     

Sharing of personal data to other parties

We may disclose your personal data to the following categories of recipients:

  • our affiliates;
  • service providers; 
  • commercial partners, such as brand licensees and
  • authorities.

We require such third parties, who may be based outside the country from which you have accessed the Sites, to comply with all relevant data protection laws and security requirements in relation to your personal data, usually by way of contract.

We might propose social plugins or you might connect your Account to your accounts on third party services like Facebook, in which case we may collect and process information relating to your account. If you connect with Facebook, we store your Facebook identity, name, email, location, friends list and profile picture and use them to connect with your Facebook account to provide certain functionality on the Sites. The third-party platform’s use of information collected from you (or as authorized by you) is governed by its own privacy policy and your settings on the service.

We might share user information with our partners, in particular for our licensed brands. This means that some personal data shared by you on the Sites (e.g. name and e-mail address for “contact me” purpose) will be shared with the relevant licensee and may also be used by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy for a similar purpose. 

At your request, and provided there is no legal obligation to keep it, we might delete or anonymize your data from the Sites. However, you should note that your data may still be available in the Partner’s own databases if transmitted prior to us receiving your request.

Data storage, security and retention

We take all reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold against loss, unauthorised access or disclosure and against other misuse.

Your personal data will not be sold, shared or otherwise disclosed or transferred to any other third parties except as provided in the Privacy Policy.

When the personal data that we collect is no longer required for the given purpose, or for legal requirements, we destroy or delete it in a secure manner.

Your rights

How you may access your personal data and seek its correction

You can request access to the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at datenschutz@wander.ch. You have the right to tell us if you would like to correct, update or delete your personal data in our records. To assist us in dealing with your request, please provide your full name and details.

You may opt-out at any time from marketing communications, including targeted advertising messages, by following the ‘opt-out’ options provided or by contacting us (datenschutz@wander.ch). You may also limit the use of tracking technologies (such as cookies for which you can set your browser to warn you before accepting them, or you can simply set it to refuse them).

How to contact us

WANDER, registered in Switzerland under number CHE-102.315.780 acts as “data controller” for the personal data it processes in the framework of this Privacy Notice.

The Privacy Notice shall be governed in accordance to Swiss law and any dispute or claim relating to the Sites shall be brought before the Courts of Canton Bern, Switzerland.

If any of the above terms are found to be illegal or otherwise unenforceable, such terms shall be deleted from the Privacy Notice and the remaining enforceable terms shall continue in full force and effect.
